Another great weekend for us here at Alluring Blooms!

I got the opportunity to arrange flowers for Sara and Adam’s wedding yesterday. They were married at the BEAUTIFUL Blackhawk Country Club in Madison, Wisconsin.

The bride wanted a slight cascade bouquet, and I was soooo excited for the opportunity! The cascade is not as common as it used to be… but the long, ivy and babies breath cascades of the 80’s are sooooo out! Here’s our take on a modern cascade. A beautiful combo of white dendrobium orchids, lilies, stock, gerberas, LILACS! and anemone with some black bacarra roses and bear grass accents. I loved the fun black flat wire accents worked in!

The maids bouquets were created with the same flowers, only they were round hand tied bouquets.

Here’s a shot of the arrangement I put together for the couple’s sand ceremony.

We had a wonderful time working putting flowers together for this wedding. We hope this fantastic couple had the perfect day!

Sam and Juan are Married!

November 7, 2010

Last month we did flowers for a wedding at The Pres House, downtown Madison, WI. The reception was held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Middleton, WI. It was a blast, and I finally have time to show you some pics! Sam and Juan decided on red and ivory roses, and I added seeded eucalyptus as an accent. The pieces were really simple and elegant. We got to create the brides bouquet, the grooms bout, 4 bridesmaids bouquets, 4 groomsmens bouts, bouts and corsages for the parents, alter arrangements, a memorial arrangement, a toss bouquet and an absolutely magnificent cake… the hightlight of the wedding for me!

Onto the pics:

The Bride’s Bouquet: A simple hand tied bouquet in a mix of ivory and red roses collared with seeded eucalyptus. The stems were wrapped in ivory ribbon and accented with red pins.

The Groom’s Boutonniere: An ivory rose boutonniere accented with seeded eucalyptus and a simple tape wrapped stem.

The Bridesmaid’s Bouquets: Hand tied bouquets of red roses collared with seeded eucalyptus. The stems were given the same stem treatment as the brides.

The Groomsmen’s Boutonnieres: A simple red rose bout with a kick! This basic red rose boutonniere with seeded eucalyptus has a tape wrapped stem accented with black bullion wire. This wire adds a nice glimmer. A very inexpensive way to spruce up a bout.

The Toss Bouquet: A simple mixed flower toss bouquet.

And last, but certainly not least, the cake. Sam had given us an inspiration photo of how she wanted her cake to look. It was a lot of fun recreating this beautiful cake. Roses in different shades were placed layer after layer, and the table was covered in ivory and red rose petals.
